What's the best way to scrap or break an old Ford Fiesta?
I've got a 1992 L plate Fiesta. It got broken into and joy-ridden. It's not economical to repair... I reclaimed the unused insurance, now it's sitting in the drive. The only thing that's worth anything (possibly) on it is 4 alloy wheels with a decent amount of wear left in the tyres. What's the best way to get rid of this car? Should I go for one of those "cash paid for cars" places or sell the wheels? If I sell the wheels, how would I get rid of the rest of the car?
do not sell to those sort of people as they will only offer you around 20- 25 pounds maximum. take the cat off the vehicle, take the car to a place what buys scrap metal, the car will sell for scrap for around 60 - 75 pounds, if you can throw any old metal in it to increase the weight it will be in your favour, washing machines are good, but not fridges or freezers, the more weight the more money. take the alloy wheels off and try to sell them seperately as the scrap merchant will charge you for disposal of the tyres, if you cant sell the wheels take to garage and get the tyres taken off the rims and then scrap the wheels, the will fetch 5-6 pounds each, finally scrap the cat as there are lots of precious metals in it the price will be from 15 pounds upwards. if you do it right you can get up to 120- 150 pounds in scrap value for the vehicle. and remember more metal you can throw in the boot the more money you will get. good luck hope this helps
