Would you accept a fake diamond engagement ring?

I have some friends who would never accept a fake engagement ring and others who would accept it. When is it ok to give a fake diamond ring?
What about accepting a fake diamond ring to invest in a house or a substantial investment that? It seems like that would be a better use of funds till they make more money to splurge on a diamond.

wow, someone would have to be shallower then hell to not, a ring is only the symbol of 2 ppl spending the rest of there life together. & more then likely the person gicing it cant afford anything better but they want the commitment & usually they get a better one they believe there partner deserves

i bought my husband a pricy 6 diamond band when we got married.... i didnt get my ring till 8 months later almost because he wanted to get me what i deserved, but i would have been happy having any lil band

the ring doesnt stop an arguement or bring you closer together, the only real value is giving it to your kids when your way older or pawning it if you get divorced
& who would really know the difference of a fake & real diamond by just looking at it anyways?
