I came accros a weird finding while digging outside my house, anyone has an idea the value it might has?
While i was digging outside of my house in Greece, i came across whith this finding. I assume its a medal or a coing that someone used as a pendant. If you look closely you will notice that it wite "D-G-REC-FD-2008" with a little search in the internet i saw that all the medals or coins write D-G REG-FD-DATE. Propably the G begame C from the time spend in the ground, but what about the date why 2008 and not 1979 for example? And also it has any value or not? it looks really interesting...but i'm not sure it's too old. the numbers&letters sound like an identification code of some kind. I suggest you take it to some one who specializes in coins et cetra. or someone who is somewhat educated in this field. about how heavy might this be? usually you can tell the age and value by its weight. b/c things used to be made with greater care-not so much anymore. also if it is on the heavier side it could be made of a more expensive medal, indicating greater importance.
